Eby, Richard, DO:  Founding President of OPSC, co-founder of COMP

Frymann, Viola, DO, FAAO:  Co-founder of COMP, former President of OPSC, President of the Board and Medical Director of the Osteopathic Center for Children and Families, San Diego

Grunigen, Dolores, BS, BA:  Worked on California Medical Licensing Board in getting former DOs licensed as MDs

Golanty, Stanley, MD:  Former Academic Dean of Education at Pacific Hospital, Long Beach

Haldeman, Scott, MD, PhD, DC:  Trained in Neurology at UC Irvine, participated in research funded by the 41st Medical Trust, raised attention nationally and internationally to the science of musculoskeletal manipulation and helped the U.S. Government establish healthcare policies on its clinical application

Hufstedler, Seth, LLB:  Legal counsel for COA, 41st Medical Society, and 41st Medical Trust

Kamajian, Steven, DO:  Graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1978, first clinical instructor for third year medical students at COMP and osteopathic physician for many faculty members, staff and students since 1981; Chief of Staff at Glendale Adventist Hospital

Kammerman, Richard, MD:  Graduate of COP&S in 1956, presently Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at UCI CCM, Past President of the Orange County Osteopathic Society and the Orange County Medical Association, Past President of the Voluntary Faculty Association at the Orange County Medical Center, Past President of COP&S/CCM Alumni Association, member of 41st Medical Trust Committee

Kasovac, Mitchell, DO:  Former Dean of COMP, former President of AOA

Korneff, Allen:  Former CEO and President of Downey Regional Medical Center, amalgamated Rio Hondo Hospital (osteopathic) with Downey Hospital (allopathic), maintains osteopathic family medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine residency programs (only one in the state)

Krpan, Donald, DO:  Former dean of COMP, former Provost of Western University of Health Sciences, former president of OPSC and AOA, former President of Osteopathic Medical Board of California and currently Executive Director

MacCracken, Betsy, MD, MPH:  Graduate and faculty of COP&S, served at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, in charge of pediatric health care

Menkes, Alan, DO, FACOI:  Graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1967, joined initial efforts to start COMP in 1976, and became the first professor and chair of the Department of Medicine

Michael, Jay, MS:  Lobbyist for CMA, worked with Senator Teale in Sacramento, CA

Nelson, Thomas, MD:  Founding Chair of Pediatrics at the University of California Irvine College of Medicine

Norcross, Robert, MD:  Graduate of COP&S in 1951, surgeon at Bay Harbor Hospital in Lomita, his two sons graduated from COMP

Passy, Victor, MD:  Graduate of COP&S in 1959, Active Professor Emeritus of Otolaryngology at UC Irvine School of Medicine, Chair of 41st Medical Trust Committee, Past President of CCM Alumni Association

Pumerantz, Philip, PhD:  Founding President of Western University of the Health Sciences in Pomona, CA

Ryan, William, DO:  One of the first osteopathic physicians commissioned in the U.S. Navy (1967), stationed in San Diego, CA; first DO hired by Kaiser Permanente of Southern California, and first DO to be accepted as a partner in Kaiser Permanente Medical Group.

Ryder, Richard, MD:  Graduate of COP&S in 1960, first former DO to be a member of AAFP

Seffinger, Michael, DO:  Graduate of MSU-COM, faculty of COMP, former Chair of the AAFP CME spinal manual medicine programs, participated in research funded by the 41st Medical Trust, initiated this history project by collecting documents and narrative histories, and stimulated cataloguing the documents archived at UC Irvine and WUHS

Steedman, Robert, MD:  Graduate of COP&S in 1959, member of 41st Medical Trust Committee, past president of COP&S/CCM Alumni Association, Clinical Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery, trained under both DO and MD attendings, and trained both DO and MD students

Stotts, Cynthia, DO:  Graduate of COMP in 1988, interned at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, trained at L.A. County-USC Medical Center in Pediatrics/Internal Medicine/Allergy/Immunology, pediatric intensivist, first female and first DO Chief of Staff at L.A. County-USC Medical Center

Taylor, James, MD:  Graduate of COP&S in 1958, trained at USC, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at UCI CCM, practiced at Bay Harbor Hospital in Lomita, CA

Tobis, Jerome, MD:  Graduate of Chicago Medical School, former Chair of Dept. Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at UCI CM, conducted first randomized clinical trial on osteopathic manipulation therapy in the United States

Ulansey, Seymour, MD:  Graduate of COP&S and Metropolitan University (1940s), Co-owner of mixed staff Hollywood Hospital, financially supported both CCM and COMP

Van den Noort, Stanley, MD:  Graduate of Harvard Medical School, former Dean of UCI CM, former Chair of the Dept. of Neurology, oversaw research funded by the 41st First Trust, member of the 41st Medical Trust Committee

Vinn, Norman, DO:  Past President of OPSC, first Vice-President of the AOA, helped the osteopathic medical profession to adapt to managed care

Weyuker, Matt:  Executive Director Emeritus of OPSC, lobbyist for COMP

Wykle, John, MD:  Graduate of COP&S in 1941, shared a medical practice with Senator Teale for several years
