The bibliographic management software RefWorks is now freely available to the entire UCI campus community via a campuswide site license paid for by the UCI Libraries.
This easy-to-use web application enables students and researchers to collect and manage citations of all kinds, format them based on any of 800 predefined styles, and quickly create a bibliography. It is one of very few products of its kind accessible via the Internet. In addition, the WriteNCite feature enables incorporation of within-text footnotes and references with automatic formatting, and to include those sources in the bibliography.
Examples of how researchers can take advantage of RefWorks include:
Any UCI faculty member and student can register online at www.refworks.com. Follow the Login link to sign up for an individual account. Links to RefWorks online guides and tutorials are www.lib.uci.edu/bms/refworks.html. The UCI Libraries offer free introductory workshops, which are listed at www.lib.uci.edu/services/workshops/schedule.html.
Questions? Faculty and graduate students are welcome to contact their Subject Librarian (see list at www.lib.uci.edu/libraries/contact/sublib.html), or contact Cynthia Johnson (cynthiaj@uci.edu or x40081) or Christina Woo (cjwoo@uci.edu or x44974) in the Langson Library Reference Department.
