The UC Irvine Libraries' collections support the teaching and research mission of the campus. We recognize that the diverse community the library serves needs inclusive collections which are a foundation for learning and a basis for the creation of new knowledge.
The UCI Libraries hold more than 4.3 million volumes and provide access to approximately 250,000 print and online journals and scholarly resources. The Libraries also maintain a collection of 2.9 million microforms -- as well as more than 110,000 cartographic and graphic materials, computer files, audio recordings, films, and videos.
These collections are found through our online catalog, UC Library Search, and housed at Langson Library (arts and humanities, social sciences, & special collections), Grunigen Library (Orange Medical Campus), Science Library (STEM, medicine), the Multimedia Resource Center (tech equipment) and UC shared storage facilities.
Collection development and collection management strategies are outlined in this Guiding Principles for the UCI Libraries Collection.
